The First Annual ItsyBitsy Craft Awards 2012-2013

It's the month of March and award season is in play. The Oscars just finished, the Golden Globes and Emmys as well. In keeping with this tradition we at ItsyBitsy are all set to start a brand new tradition of our own. So without further delay, I am thrilled to announce the First Annual ItsyBitsy Craft Awards to celebrate craft for the year 2012-2013!!

We have loads of categories, oodles of prizes and the best part is that your peers will be involved in the winners list. Here are the guidelines:
  • All participants can enter not more than ONE project in each category, as long as they comply with the requirements of that category.
  • We want to recognize the very best projects of the year. You must select your very best work of the year gone by (1.3.2012 till 31.3.2013) and enter it into the contest. This is one occasion when backlinking is permitted
  • You may also create a new project for each category but bear in mind that you can only enter one so the one that you enter must be your very best creation.

  • You will have until March 25th 2013 to submit your entries.

  • Under each category will be a LINK tool. Click on the link button and you can submit your entry there.

  • If you don't have a blog or online gallery, you may send your entry via email to  itsybitsycraftcontests@gmail.com. Please mention the category for which you are entering your project. We will then add it to the gallery on this page.

  • From March 25th to March 31st 2013, we will open the gallery to voting. During this time you can invite your visitors, friends and fellow crafters to vote for their favorite project in each category.

  • On March 31st, the five entries with the most votes will be selected as the nominees for each category and reviewed by our panel of judges to select a single winner for each category.

  • Winners will be announced in the first week of April 2013
  • All winners will receive a voucher from ItsyBitsy for Rs 1000 and a winners badge.

  • The nominees in each category who missed out on the winning spot will receive a 'Nominee badge' and a gift voucher from ItsyBitsy for Rs. 250.

  • Entries are welcome from all over the world however in case you are selected as a winner and receive the Rs. 1000 voucher, shipping will only be made to Indian postal addresses as from a legal perspective, it is extremely complicated for us to ship internationally.

CATEGORIES:

Card Making Project of the Year

Layout of the Year (if you're entering an album or scrapbook, choose one particular layout for your entry).

Box or 3D Project of the Year (includes explosion boxes, gift boxes and related projects. Cannot include cards or scrapbooks as detailed above)

Jewelry Making Project of the year (Must include beads of some sort - quilled jewelry not permitted)

Kids Craft Project of the Year (Must be a project made by/ for a child using general craft items)

Given that we are recognizing 5 different projects and crafters this month, there will be no regular challenge. We are setting aside this time to celebrate, remember and appreciate the very best projects of the past 12 months.

So what are you waiting for? Share your very best creation and let's celebrate the best projects of the year!

  21. This contest was an eye opener for me..In my mind I used to consider myself a card maker but going through my blog posts I was surprised to find how much I had deviated from card making to other 3 D projects and recycling stuff!! I really struggled to find a decent card for this contest.Should really appreciate the mind behind the concept of the contest!!

    1. Megha, above your entry will be a star. When your friend wants to vote they must click on the star. When it is clicked, the star disappears and the number of votes appears. When this happens it means that the vote has been recorded. Each user can only vote ONCE for each category. So after they vote, the star disappears preventing them from voting again and instead you will see the number of votes received for each entry. The vote button IS working because a lot of entries have received votes. Hope this helps!
